MORE TEA PAIRINGS WITH FOOD & GIFTS FOR CHRISTMAS…

With Christmas now well and truly on countdown I thought it might be nice to write another post on tea pairings with some of the festive foods we eat.

When drinking Lapsang have it with chicken or smoked salmon sandwiches or walnut cake or Stilton cheese, to enhance the flavour of the tea and/or food.

Of course, Christmas isn’t Christmas without chocolate but with different strengths of chocolate, this does mean there is a choice of pairings. With dark chocolate, try Assam, Darjeeling, Earl Grey, Gyokuro, or Oolong. With milk or white chocolate try Darjeeling, Dragonwell, or Oolong,

When drinking Earl Grey have it with fine pate or ham and mustard sandwich’s or Crème Brulee or Leicester cheese, to enhance the flavour of the tea and/or food.

When drinking Ceylon tea try having it with cucumber or tomato sandwiches or tarte au citron or mature cheddar cheese.

Forget about a nightcap liqueur coffee – the finest way to round off a full day of feasting is with these Fenwick Anthon Berg Coffee Liqueurs, Anthon Berg recreate the taste of your favourite coffee with their Coffee Liqueurs 250g. Or, for any tea lover, this unique Fortnum’s Time for Tea Book Signed Copy. Fortnum & Mason has nearly as much experience of selling tea as Britain has of drinking it – some three centuries’ worth, in fact, since the early eighteenth century.

Written by award-winning food writer, Tom Parker Bowles, Time for Tea is an expert and entertaining guide to tea from Fortnum & Mason. This accessible and comprehensive book whisks you through all the information you need to get the most out of your cuppa – alongside plenty of delicious food pairings and recipes.

Discover the history behind Britain’s favourite drink, learn how to make the perfect brew and identify a wide range of teas to suit different tastes – whether a single-origin Darjeeling, contemporary cold brew infusion or Britain’s much-loved builder’s brew. It also explores which teas are best to kick-start the day, revive the spirits or soothe at evening’s end. Now, enough of the talk, it’s Time for Tea, Signed by Tom Parker Bowles.
