A couple more baking tips from The Village Kitchen on 4 of the “best way to cool your cake after baking.”
Use a metal cooling rack for cakes as this will ensure any excess steam escapes without leaving your cake soggy.
Leave your cake on a wire rack in the tin you have baked it in for 10 minutes before you turn it out.
When the cakes are cool, poke some narrow holes in them with a skewer or cake tester then sprinkle the cakes with a few tablespoons of liquor, being sure not to get the cakes too wet!
Flip the cake out onto a piece of plastic wrap. Wrap the cake tightly in plastic and then place it in the fridge overnight.
