CELEBRATE THE BRITISH SANDWICH WEEK 18-24 MAY 2026 with us at THE VILLAGE KITCHEN…

Seven Days, Seven Sandwiches!

Every year, British Sandwich Week celebrates the humble sandwich in all its glory, as well as the contribution that the sandwich industry makes to the economy. This year, the theme is ‘Seven Days, Seven Sandwiches’ and we’ve suggested some of our favourite recipes to inspire you.

It’s basically a week-long excuse to eat, try, and celebrate sandwiches—whether that’s a bacon butty, a meal deal classic, or something gourmet. Pop in and celebrate a lovely British Sandwich with us at The Village Kitchen.

British Sandwich Week runs from 18-24th May 2026 and is organised by the British Sandwich & Food to Go Association, the trade body established in 1990 to represent the interests of all those businesses involved with the food on the move industry.

A nationwide celebration of sandwiches in all forms—from classic fillings to creative new recipes. It highlights both the cultural importance of sandwiches and their economic impact in the UK.

Members range from supermarkets and food to go manufacturers to sandwich bars, cafes and the suppliers of ingredients and equipment for the industry. As well as representing the interests of members to Government, the Association sets industry standards and organises events such as British Sandwich Week and the British Sandwich & Food To Go Industry Awards, also known as the ‘Sammies’.
