A few more foodie tips…

Put the fruitcake dish in a baking dish half-filled with water to prevent burning around the edges.

Always rinse raisins, dates and figs in very cold water before putting them through the food chopper, it will stop them from forming a gummy mass.

To soften hard brown sugar, leave it in a bowl covered with a damp tea towel.
