2. Join the rangers of Sherwood Pines as they take you and your family on a bushcraft adventure through the forest. This event is suitable for children aged 6+.

3. Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre and National Nature Reserve, the legendary home of Robin Hood. Many of the oaks in Sherwood Forest have stood for over 5 centuries and the mighty Major Oak (Robin Hood’s tree) is estimated to be over 800 years old. The forest is a Special Area of Conservation and is teeming with life with over 200 different species of spider and 1500 species of beetle along with birds and beasts. There are extensive paths and trails meandering through the woodlands for you to explore.

4. The Robin Hood Express on the 30th August, Join expert Archaeologists and Historians aboard a vintage 1960s London Bus on a tour of legendary Sherwood Forest

Renowned expert Archaeologists from Mercian Archaeological Services CIC’s Sherwood Forest Archaeology Project have come together with local Historian, Archaeologist and Specialist Peter Hammond , and Blackmore Commercials Ltd. To provide this fantastic heritage tour of legendary Sherwood Forest.

The tour combines unrivalled local knowledge of historic Sherwood Forest with an opportunity to ride on board a vintage RouteMaster bus.

The tour stops at the famous Sherwood sites of Rufford Abbey, The Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve & Legendary Major Oak, King John’s Palace, and Newstead Abbey.

You will also explore many of the sites and villages along the way that make up this magical landscape.
