COFFEE PAIRINGS TO GET THE BEST TASTE…

It has been said that flavour combinations impact how our brain absorbs taste. The perfect match does more than just make your coffee taste better; it also alters your overall experience.

Here is a list of ten foods that match perfectly with coffee.

  1. Dark chocolate, which can bring out the earthy or fruity undertones in many coffees. This pairing works especially well with dark roasts, espresso, and African beans with natural cocoa or berry notes. The best chocolates to choose should contain 70% or more cocao for the best match. Milk chocolate on the other hand won’t work as well and can overwhelm the coffee taste.
  2. Another good one is an almond biscotti which can offer just the right crunch and sweetness to contrast a bold espresso or cappuccino. It also works well with flavoured coffees—vanilla, hazelnut, or mocha blends.
  3. One of my personal favourites is banana bread, which is the perfect companion for a medium roast. The natural sweetness of ripe bananas balances the roast’s mild bitterness, while its dense, moist texture contrasts beautifully with the hot liquid.
  4. A cheese scone which tastes bring out the creamy and nutty tones in coffee.
  5. Cookies are another great fit with coffee. The oats bring out earthy notes in the coffee, while raisins or chocolate chips can mirror the flavour undertones in your cup.
  6. Fruits like, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries are particularly good options.
  7. Cinnamon’s warm spice blends seamlessly with medium or dark roast coffee, especially if the brew has chocolate or caramel notes.
  8. Finally, the very obvious one is Coffee Cake which is delicious with any type of coffee.
