EAT CHERRIES – THEY ARE VERY GOOD FOR YOU…

Cherries are very good for you because they are packed with Vitamin C. Twelve fresh cherries provide a quarter of the recommended daily amount.

Cherries deep red comes rom anthocyanins, a type of antioxidant that can help the body to protect itself against disease and reduce pain and inflammation.

They can also ease the pain or gout, and might even be able to help you sleep due to the melatonin the cherries contain. Research indicates you should eat cherries — or drink some tart cherry juice — about an hour before you go to sleep  to get a good night’s sleep.

July is the height of the season, and harvest begins to taper off in August.
